P0401

Jeff in California has his kit up and running, He is getting CEL P0401 (EGR low flow). The kit is a fresh install on an 01. He pulled the EGR tube and it looks OK. Other than that the car runs great. Any suggestions?

When I get my low flow, its because of the little tube getting clogged up.

I would suggest he takes off the EGR valve mounting bracket and make sure that its open. Blow through it. Also make sure that the little compression fitting fits over the small SS tube completely. If not, it could block the tube when you screw it in.

He also has/had idle droop. He needs to adjust the screw a bit more. His OBD reported 670RPM at the point the CEL occurred. I wonder if low idle would cause a lack of hard vacuum and toss the code? I chatted with a hotside customer this evening by email and he said he got it as well but he has 600RPM idle when cold.
