All I want to do is to buy a set of used RA-1s to try on the street. Is that too much to ask???
I must have talked with 6 people via e-mail about em. One guy actually wanted $155 each! Considering I can get them from Edge Racing for $120, I think that's a little too much.
Do people actually run these tires til they're bald or what???

Yes, most people run RA-1's to cord. They just keep getting better and better 'til they are gone.
Most "useful" take-offs are from Autocrossers that are disappointed in the performance or have done 6 runs and consider them "dried out". This low use is probably why some of the offers are for top dollar. You would still get plenty of street use from them even if they have been shaved.

I had better luck with a NASA racer so let's see if anything comes from it.

Now we're talkin.
I just got a set of Kumho V700 Victoracers in 205x50x15s. I'm about to go to the garage to put them on the car. :)

Now all you need to do is mount them on separate wheels and c'mon over with Tom to race at Arroyo Seco Motorplex. ;):driving:

I took it for a quick drive @ 30 PSI and noticed that they were REALLY sticky by how well they stopped the car. The Kumho website suggests the pressure at 35~40 PSI.
I think I'll try 34PSI tomorrow and see how they feel.
