I was thinking of waiting for the 1.6 supercharger, or just going for more power and getting the 1.8 coldside kit. What would be recommended?

Also, what would I do for engine management?
Will it fit?
Kits Ready to Ship?

Should I just wait for the 1.6 kit or get more power?

Thanks,
John

:devil2: Hang out another couple weeks and see what the 1.6 hotside will do. In the meantime get a compression check on your 91 to make sure its healthy for FI :sailor:

If you have the money to use.

Then do it right.

Get a 1.8L and have it build for the Cold side.
1. Port and Polish heads
2. Bigger valves
3. Solid lifters
4. Get it cut to a 1.9L
5 New piston made for higher power.

Then install it with a the Super charger and you will be able to make endless power for many years to come...

Yes I know this add tons of money to project, but this is 1 way to do it...

If you have the short nose crank, do the 1.8L swap. I just understand the crank differences and we will not be recommending the 1.6L kit for short nose applications. As I understand it, that is 1990 and early 1991.

This http://www.miata.net/garage/crankshaft.html will help you figure out which one you have. In production there is ONLY a short crank and a Big crank. The "Long" crank was only sold as a retrofit part for the short crank. At least that is how this reads.
