Belt dust

Tom,

A few of use coldsiders have notice a small amount of dust around the pulley and the hood. Is this normal, or is it a sign of slip?

I doubt there is any way for the belt to slip on those pulleys with that tensioner setup. I see from looking at the idler pulley that it is almost polished clean. My guess is that everytime you hit the Fast Forward button :) the back of the belt slips a bit on it and leaves some dust behind. I have over 5000 miles on the current belt (I have changed it a couple times because of pulley size changes) and it still looks fine.
