I am well aware that the current only market offering for a header that is compatible with the Hotside is the JR 4-2-1. I was wondering if anyone has heard of any alternatives? The Gibb header looked really really promising, but nobody seems to be able to get one?

Tom, do you think perhaps Jackson Racing would be interested in developing a supercharger only header similar to the Gibb? Their current offering is kinda wimpy :). I know you say the header doesn't make any difference at 200rwhp and I agree, but I am thinking of 240+rwhp which is where I definitely found on the dyno the limitations of the JR header on the R4 setups.

this probably wont help but the old RB header that is not the 4-2-1 I know I have heard worked. Not in production anymore I dont think. I have also heard (sorry) that the RB header the last runner where it pooches up you can splice and dice and lower it some.

ok my 2-cents im out of here

I have the RB 4-2-1 header on my 97. This is the car that had the BRP Hotside. It does fit, but tolerances are extremely close. Installation is a real pain - the unit cannot be installed without lifting the engine out of the mounts.

You may need to grind one of the ribs off the bottom of the SC to keep it from touching. It also touches the bell housing - just barely - but enough to make a horrendous rattle. I have wedged a shim between which helped, but it needs a lillte more work.

The car has a complete RB cat back - not sure which one. Overall, it is too loud and drones. I much prefer the sound of my stock unit on the 96 FFS.

Very interesting, thanks for the heads up as I was thinking about getting a RB to replace my JR because I recall the RB dynoed better on the mega power setups.

Might just need to make my own 4-1 header :).
