I installed a 37 mm Koyo. Make sure when installed the front of it does not rest on the mounting bolts of the evap coil of your AC unit. After time the bolts will penetrate the radiator.

I did not pay attn: enough and sprung a leak... This time I took the bolts out, bent the tabs back, and used zip lock ties to secure. Allot more room now.

I screwed up... but I learned..

Thanks for the tip. I am planning on installing my 37mm Koyo this weekend. I will watch out for this. I finally have time now that the engine replacement in my other car is complete.

When I installed my 37 mm Koyo, the AC part mentioned was totally in the way so I moved the top of the AC assembly to the front of it's mounting brackets which made enough room at the bottom to clear the Koyo.

There must be variations either in the Koyos or different models of Miatas that make some clearances more or less difficult.

Yep, Tom offered to replace the radiator since it was his SC kit that initiated the upgrade to begin with. I told him that was not necessary and what a saint he is

wow.. what guy you know? he is going to raffle off his 05 on Memorial Weekend and then this.

bless his heart

I installed the 55mm, and even bent the brackets to get clearance.

The brackets bent back, and the bolts chewed on, but didn't puncture the radiator.

I glued two pieces of 1/8" thick aluminum, 1.5" wide, 2.5" long, where the bolts would hit with aquarium cement.

I figured the aquarium cement is good at temperature, and would help seal any leaks that may form.
