I just checked the SC oil and it was low. It took only 4 oz. to bring it to the level Tom says it should be at. Do I need to re apply the blue loctite every time I open that plug on the SC?

I didn't, but it wouldn't hurt to do so Thom.

What kind of oil goes in a SC? I've never checked it and don't even know where to look. I need to start checking it.
I need to start checking my engine oil each time I get gas. It was low when I had it in the shop recently.
Thanks

You can get it at any GM dealership. It's called GM Supercharger oil.

I assume it's available at Advance, Autozone and NAPA also, right? Probably best to use same brand but who knows what is in there.
I just needed to know it was something differnet from engine oil before I put some of that in it.if it's low.
I just went to www.MagnusonProducts.com and unsucessfullly looked for instructions on how to check it, etc. I sent an email to tech@magnusonproducts.com asking how to check it, how often and what to use.

P. S. there are over 12,000 species of ants but no chuckerants, give me a hint.

Right underneath the nose pulley, there is an allenhead bolt that should be dabbed with a little blue or green goo (?) to identify it. When you remove that bolt, you should get a little bit of SC oil weeping out. If not, squirt some SC oil in until you get the oil to weep out.
On my blower, it is almost 2 years old with 20,000 miles on it and I only needed to add about 1 oz (?).
You may want to put some Locktite Blue on that bolt just to be safe when you reinstall it. Also, try to have the car and the blower on level ground.

Correction: the allenhead bolt is below and to the right of the nose pulley on my hotside.

The allen bolt is just under the pulley on the SC on the coldside also.
This is the only oil to put in this part of the unit, I think putting in 10w30 would be a very bad move.the oil should come up to the bolt hole and that is fine. This is a sealed unit and Tom say the oil should last 50,000 miles. There is no set time for maintence on this unit. Thanks Chuck for all you help.

On a side note: DO NOT get this stuff on you. It smells absolutely putrid. When I changed the oil on my GTP I nearly puked when I spilled some of it on the nose of the supercharger. It seriously smells like an scavenging animal farted and then died, and they just ground him up to use him as oil. Its horrible.

Are you sure you got the same stuff as is pictured in a previous post? I just went out and smelled some from my bottle and it doesn't seem to smell like anything. Maybe a tiny bit like most oil smells.
I think you must have got the "special" "Ground up Animal Ass" version.

I took my tensioner off a few days ago to do a post 1000 mile checkup of my install.
I noticed mine is leaking some oil at the front, I think its coming from the nose pulley. Don't know if I should be concerned. On the Stage One Tuning Forums others had experienced some leaking with their MP62's.

I would not be concerned if the bearing area was a bit wet from the oil. It is extremely thin oil and that is a sleeve bearing. I almost think I would be concerned if it weren't a bit wet.

Well, I'm one of those guys that has had a "problem" with a leaky blower. It was my understanding after talking to the guys at Magnuson that there wasn't supposed to be any oil weeping out of the nose. When I first got my blower from BRP, it leaked right off the bat. I was told that I could send it in and have it fixed because there was a bad batch of blowers. After getting my blower back from them, I had the leak again. This of course really pissed me off! I saved money for 3 years to get this kit, and now it isn't right. I then sent my blower to Magnuson once more to have it fixed right. They rebuilt it, replaced the seals and it has yet to leak. I should point out too, that when I finally got it back this last time, the blower looked a bit different-- meaning that around the seams and crevices of the blower, there is now a red colored gasket sealant. I never noticed that on the first two blowers. Every few hundred miles, I have gotten in the habit of running my finger under the nose pulley just to feel for wetness, and it is always dry.
From an engineering standpoint, maybe listen to Tom. I can be handy under the hood, but I drive boats for a living. Either way, the leak always bothered me.

Mine leaked a tiny bit for the couple thousand miles and then it stopped. I topped it up at 5000 miles and checked it again at 10,000 miles and it's still full.

Well I just want to say that I only have about 3000 miles on mine, but I have never had any leaks at all. The friend that did the sealant work on mine ( Rich Velardo ) did an out standing job and we used the red colored sealant the first time around.
