Just a hint.... the VDB doesn't have to be horizontal. Vertically installing it lets it fit in a very narrow space.

Thanks for the hint..... Your hint led to another 30 mins in the garage and a great solution for both the VDB and the IAC!!!
Thanks again!

Funny how this works. We think of ourselves as intelligent and creative people, yet none of us thought of changing the orientation. I'm anxious to see what you come up with.

Yeah, but..but...Is vacuum heavier or lighter than air?

Lighter. The air is less dense in vacuum. Therefore, the fitting at the bottom of the VDB will get all the heavy air and the fitting at the top will get all the vacuum.

That is exactly why I put mine horizontal. Whooee, I avoided another costly mistake.:sweatdrop:

I ziptied my VDB to two brake lines. (Hey, I like to live dangerously.) For liability reasons I obviously can't recommend that anyone else attach any foreign objects to their brake lines.

The IAC valve ended up being mounted just behind the passenger-side headlight, near the charcoal canister, where there's tons of empty space. There was just barely enough vacuum hose in the kit to do the job. The T-connector leading to it was mounted near the front of the timing cover where the wire harness is ziptied down.

It looks like you will have some significant leakage with that VDB.

Ya think?! (I took the photo right after tying it, hoping for some input from Tom as to whether he could see a better way to mount it.)

I think he is referring to the connectors which appear to be open to the atmosphere. Hard to pull a vacuum that way.
