Greetings,

I have a JDM motor in my 1997 Miata. It does not have an EGR sensor.

I've reading the FFS installation. Is there a way to accommodate motor without EGR?

EGR is not necessary for the operation of the FFS system only to meet emissions.

I am not familiar with the JDM motor. Please enlighten me to it. Are the head intake ports similar to the 94-97 Miata or the 99+. In either case, it should make no difference to the kit, just which kit.

The so-called "JDM" motor is sitting at my mechanic's shop. Once the engine bay is cleaned, it will go in.

As I was looking over motor, it didn't have the EGR sensor by the intake manifold. Otherwise, intake port is the same.

As far as your supercharger installation is concerned, what adjustment do I need to make without the EGR sensor?

On a 97, I don't think you need to do anything.

Then, basically EGR sensor removal at the intake side and EGR nut at the exhaust manifold side are done for clearance reason? I.e. removal of the stock throttle body and supercharger install.

No, we remove the EGR valve from the stock intake and re-install it on the FFS intake to meet emissions standards. If that is not required where you are (you don't have an EGR valve and tube now) the system will work no differently without it.

Thanks for being patient with me.

Then, on the Supercharger Install for EGR modification, step 9 to 14, what do I need to do differently.

Again, thanks for helping me become literate on the install. I would like to learn how to install it myself so that I don't have to rely on others when I need to repair it.

Patience is something I have loads of. I will try my best to answer each and every question asked.

All we need to do is put a 1/4"NPT plug in the hole on the TBA manifold for you or you can do it, to replace the compression fitting that normally connects the small tobe to the EGR valve. On your exhaust manifold, you will need to seal that hole where the ERG crossover pipe connects. I have seen some people just cut the crossover tube, kink it and put a spot of weld on it to seal the hole. Some aftermarket exhaust manifolds don't even have the fitting for the EGR crossover tube so that is an alternative. I am sure there are a moriad of other ways to plug that hole. Leave the electrical connector disconnected and tie it out of the way. Then, you just don't mount our EGR bracket and your EGR valve and you are done.
