Brand new to the site, but have enjoyed reading for some time now. Hoping to replace a 92 "B" package with suspension / exhaust ugrades that was a victim of my loving but overzealous 17 year old. The next one will be all mine!

I'm attracted to the coldside model in an attempt to get the increase in power with a minimum of fuss. My ultimate goals are for a daily driver / limited track day car that my son and I can work on together and drive. I have most of the suspension from my 92 and was thrilled with the driving performance / balance!

I'm hoping to hear from those who have gone this route (and you probably have commented on this issue before) and are willing to voice their opinions. I have posted under the 94-97 side but am interested in differences with the NB's and the advantages / disadvantages. I'm looking now for the best car to start with and realistically the 94-97 models seem to be a better starting price for me.

Thanks!

I prefer the NAs to NBs for a couple reasons. First - they have a bit more room in the cabin. I don't fit well in an NB.

Second, I think they are a little less refined, providing more road feel and truer sportscar experience than NBs.

In the NAs, I prefer the 96 over the 94/95 because the door panels have armrests. I do not like the sholder bolster on the 97. 94s have a real oil pressure gauge, but that can be added to the 95-97.

Go with the coldside. The throttle response is fantastic and drivabilty is excellent.

Most important - do not let the 17 year old in the drivers seat!

Thanks Bogey. I was hoping for that kind of response, hopefully more will follow. Good point about the 17 year old!

My door panels have arm rests in my 1992 man i think you got some from a car ordered sans armrests it is a simple upgrade not that it is very important but 96 is the first obd2 car i know tom has it all figured out and smoged etc but a obd1 car will be easier to modify at a later date for echaust or test pipe etc. Just something ot consider.
