Fuel lines on a 95

OK. Here comes a stupid question or 2...

I wasn't paying close enough attention when disassembling and don't know for sure which line is pressure and which line is return. I think I remember which one was readily willing to spill fuel on me when I disconnected them. :)

a) Is there an easy way to tell?
b) Any harm if they are backwards until I figure out it ain't getting no fuel?

On my 96, the line closer to the firewall was the pressured line, and the one closest to the front of the car is the return. But that's from memory...
