Hi All,

After a few trials and tribulations with freightforwarding and local customs Tom's fabled kit has arrived and my mechanic will begin the install on Monday.

We have high octane 98 ron fuel readily available in Sydney (equivalent to about 94 octane in US terms) so I'm hoping for good results. I even have a local station that sells 100 ron (96) but don't want to tune for that otherwise I won't be able to go far from home :frown: ;).

I'll post my results as they happen. Looking forward to experiencing what you guys have been going on about. Some good results may even impress my rather turbo centric mechanic. ;)

Cheers

Steve

Thanks mate :), apparently due for completion around Wed next week at the moment . I'm surprised none of you blokes in the uk have done an install before us Aussies got round to it!

FYI you can see pics from Chris P's install on our local forum on this thread:

They start on this page and go into the next. He's got a little dyno video for you there as well. I think Chris just neglected to link you guys to it

So yes we can confirm it does indeed fit a RHD car!

Cheers

Steve

Sorry for no commentary for a while. As Red Leader would say "Alllmoooost there" is the answer. The install was all done, they turned the key and BOOM down onto three cylinders / loss of compression. Nothing attributable to the kit, my engine had apparently been pinging pretty extensively and getting hot for some time (not that I noticed though and its only been tracked twice, and yes I know what ping sounds like). There was some piston damage and valves that were not too happy

A rebuild is in the process and I'm just waiting for it to go back in the car. Whilst its been expensive, as I have put NA8 pistons in it comp will be a bit lower (somewhat counteracted by a 1mm overbore and a minor head shave). Playing with pullies should therefore be a bit easier. There will be no lingering thoughts about the state of the engine now as well, which is a good thing :)

Given that the other RHDer down here ChrisP has got 195 odd WHP now on his 02, I was hoping with the re-build I might break the 200hp mark with the 105mm and a new zorst.

Heresay suggests I could be driving next week. Its been a looong 8 weeks of walking :toetap05: :toetap05: :)

Cheers

Steve
