My 2002 has stock, base suspension. Looks like 1.25" O. D. Racing Beat # 54106 is the bar to get. What about the whole kit that includes 4 springs, and brace but not end links and reinforcement flanges that need to be welded on to use the end links? Get it all --- the kit,the flanges and end links?

There is no one local who specializes in Miatas to do the install but I have a son in ATL and can get it done there. I have my local Toyota mechanic who is good but doesn't race or AutoX and that's the experience I'm looking for -- a fanatic about this stuff. Who should I see?

I see rspeed in ATL sells a Jackson Racing set of sways but I understand that on a 2002 you don't need a new bar for the rear, just the front, Right?

I seem to get the idea on the forums that RB is preferred over JR for the suspension (front sway for 2002). Your thoughts?

rspeed also sells 4 eibach springs that lower 1.2 " -- the RB springs lower 1.0", which seems to be better for my street and curvy mountain road car (I don't autoX) Thoughts?

The RB bar is a nicew addition. As for their package deal..... ehhhh. If you're going to do springs then you have to do shocks as well. If that's the case then do a matched coilover setup. I wish I had. The only exception would be Koni sport shocks with Ground Control spring/sleeve setup. Just my opinion.

I have a set of H&R Sport Springs with the stock sways and I think that it's a bit too much. They lower the car 1.5" and I find that the tires hit the inner wheel well plastic with any decent bump in the road. I have Koni Yellows which are more than enough to control them, it's just that there is next to no room left for suspension travel. While they may be awesome on the track and on the odd canyon road (as long as there are no unexpected mid-corner bumps, they are just a bit too much to live with on a day-to-day basis.

I am considering the RB springs so that I can get that extra 0.5" an inch back into the suspension.

Just my 2 cents.

I'm really happy with my Racing Beat 1.25" and JIC coilovers. For endlinks you won't have to worry about welding the flanges on if you use Gearheadsgarage endlinks. They come with a conical spacer that distributes the load evenly over the single flange. Note that RB's endlinks (and others)are bushed and were designed for the old style U- flange. Expect a little bumpier ride if you choose a spring rate higher than stock with coilovers.

I have the RB 1.25" front sway. I also bought the Goodwin mounts for it. Stock mounts are kindof marginal with that stiff bar. I also run the JIC Magic in 12/10 spring rate. JIC set to stock sport height. Springs just barly pre-loaded and rebound set to mid range. Rear bar is also RB. No complaints.
