I just got back from my new shop - man am I so lucky to have them help me

This will tell you why: www.tcmotorsports.net

They think that they can put the air intake hose that they use for their race cars in with the SC. Their intake hose's interior is completely smooth.

Since it is smooth, it should be able to get the air in faster and with more force than the standard air intake hose that has ribs.

They are going to talk to Tom about it. I am sure that Tom will give us his thoughts about this.

After I get the SC installed and the results from the dyno, I will let you know.

Probably the best way to determine the differences is to use both the standard and high performance intake hoses to get the results from each hose.

However, I am broke. So someone else with need to try that - heh what about our leader, :euro: , Tom?

I've tried a smooth elbow and the long standard hose I supply. I like the elbow But it didn't add 1 WHP.

The i terior of the elbow is as smooth as a baby's behind. ;) Let them use the other stuff. Can't hurt.

I asked the same question on the Miata.net forum - FI section.

Got an interesting response. Sounds like it will increase the psi by at least a factor of 1.

If anyone is interested in getting such a hose, let me know and how long it should be.

I will find out from the shop what it will cost you.

Like those Canadian Hosers say

HOSE THEM BEFORE THEY HOSE YOU

Grandpa,
So these Miata specialists are helping you with your SC? My younger brother has been having issues with his hotside (he lives in Seattle) and I know he is looking for someone he can trust for fixing some issues. I currently live in Anacortes, but I'll be moving back to Seattle soon. Unfortunately, I may not have the time to help him a lot. Are these guys affordable?

Yes their shop rate is $95/hour, which I think is a bargin. I would have paid them $120/hour without thinking twice. I know that $120 sounds high, but given their ability to get the job done right and real fast AND in far less time than other shops, I bet it would work out to another shop's charge of $75.00 per hour

The reason they are taking care of me is that Don who owns Proformance Racing School referred me to them.

I was so Damn Lucky to have found them.

Most all of their work is preparing their Spec Miatas and Andy's MX-5 Cup Miata.

When I was at their shop they had 3 Spec Miata and 2 racing BMWs being worked on and getting new trannys/Differentials. - So Cool.

I was like a 5-year old kid in the Candy Store

They are working on my car at this time because they are between races.

If your brother wants them to look at his SC, I will ask Carlo if and when he could do it.

Send me your brother's name and phone # and I will give it to Carlo.

Hope we get a chance to meet one of these days. Maybe at Pacific Raceways or at a Miata Club meeting.

Take Care
