Not sure I know how to cut and paste a link
http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=235644

Keith with FM got me confused as someone in Florida who Bill C flew out and worked on my car and that is basically why they were not going to refund my unwarranted 5% for canceling my order. I assumed this. They since have changed policy and refunded my money which is being given to non-profit there in Grand Junction.

The thread was shut down... Keith then went back in and changed his last post as it was not accurate. I am not a trouble maker and have never really bashed FM... but what is right... is right.... I saw a door open and put in my 2 cents thats all. Plus I get bored working from home....

It is better that you just don't go there. ;) But, if you must, http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=235644 and http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=235904.

I guess they dropped the thread where Buck pointed out the lie from Keith but that is normal. They can beat on me, call me names and tell lies but the threads go on and on. Tell the truth about FM and/or catch Keith in a bold lie and they close the thread. Go figure.

I see that Keith's 'fix' to his prior post was to simply drop the part about the plane. If he had balls, he would have made an apology in the thread and expalined that he was wrong. Instead, he took the cowards way out. So sad. But, the 'Power' forum over there is his forum so I guess he can do what he wants.

Your right..... late morning after I washed the AZ dust off my Miata... I went for a spin... that 115mm pulley really gets you up to 10lbs of boost and beyond rather quickly.....

When I am singing the blues, or just got allot of stuff on my mind I just get in my Miata and go for a spin. The sound of spinning MP62 on the coldside and the rush of picking up speed and RPM so fast makes me forget about all the crap in the world for just a moment. Most of it anyway.....

In all my years of business, I have found that giving more than expected in certain situations provides great referral business.

In regard to the forum being cut off, it might have been to curtail additional discussion that probably has limited value as forum participants do not know what to think about the situation.

It does bother me that FM has some control parts of the forum. I wonder if Gordon and others would allow FM to have such an influence. Since I am so new to these forums, I am probably real naive about all of this.

Hey, this thread looks familiar - didn't I already delete it? Oh, wait, that wasn't here... ;)

No, you're not naieve - but you're not paranoid either! :taz: FM has zero control over the Power forums there - they might pay Gary for the exclusive banner there, but Gary doesn't pay us moderators, and neither does FM - we hold everyone to the same rules.

For the record, when someone posts a gripe with a vendor, we leave the gripe, let the vendor respond (or contact the vendor and invite them to respond if they don't see the thread), then shut the thread down. We're not a dispute resolution service, and an ongoing "he said, she said" thread doesn't do anybody any good.

I've had to mediate similar threads with almost all of the vendors - except, now that I think of it, Tom! Well, not with a genuine customer complaining anyway - I have actually shut down more than a few threads where people like j_man were taking pot shots at Tom without any justification (see, Tom, we DO "protect" you and the other vendors too! If FFS related threads get shut down there, Tom, it's for the same reasons and rules that the FM, BEGi, etc. related threads get shut down. )

Tom's genuine customers seem to be 100% positive about their dealings with Tom, and post that info frequently! Frankly, I know Tom got a rough ride immediately after the split with Brant and BRP, and it's gratifying to me to see that he stuck it out at Miataforum and earned a fabulous reputation in such a short period. He went from being (in the eyes of some) the bad guy who abandoned BRP (who, up until around that time, had a good reputation for customer service) and stole the Coldside to being an innovative vendor with an excellent product and even more excellent and unsurpassed customer support. Now, a year later, when a newbie asks about FI solution, FFS is put forward very regularly as a system to be considered, right up alongside FM, ahead of BEGi, way ahead of SOT or anyone else. That's genuine progress, and well earned.

Two last comments - re Keith's comment in that Miataforum thread being edited - I did that, not Keith. I locked the thread, then Keith contacted me to say that Bill had told him he was mistaken, but he was not able to post a correction since I had locked the thread. So, I just deleted the erroneous part of his post - it was the easiest and most expeditious way for me to handle it ( I DO have a day job, you know! :D ). There was no deception, or coverup, or cowardice involved. I suppose I could have added a post saying "Keith just advised me that he was mistaken about which customer Bill flew out to help, and wanted to correct the error", but it seemed easier to just delete the few wrong words... sorry!

Secondly, and lastly, the only muzzles on forum members over there are on the moderators! Since we are required by Gary to be impartial in our dealings with posts about the forum sponsors and vendors, we are flat out NOT permitted to be critical of any of the vendors. We're also not supposed to promote any particular vendor over another... while I'm a big fan of Tom's work here at FFS, and am extremely happy with my Coldside system and especially Tom's assistance and support in getting it running properly, I actually have to hold back on my gushing praise and recommendations of FFS when newbies post asking about systems. I'd like to be able to post "check out the FFS Coldside" everywhere, but then Gary would get the messages from FM, Moss, BEGi, etc. complaining about me! I post what I can and push the limits, but I'm happy to see that it never takes long for someone else to post a FFS recommendation. I think I've purchased stuff from almost ALL of the Miata.net sponsoring vendors, and I've had a few issues with some stuff, but whereas you guys can at least post about issues, I can't!

Buck, I will say (here only, please don't anyone take this back to Miataforum to get me in trouble) that Teri at FM enforces their return policies equally with all their customers, even if they're Miataforum moderators! ;) When I spent last summer chasing down a misfire problem that turned out to be an incompatibility (in my car, at least) between FM's Link and the supposedly compatible RC Eng injectors sold by FM, I had to pay for replacement injectors before later getting a credit on the return of the first set, and did have some sort of restocking charge on their return. I know that my case was a different situation than yours (and, while I would have preferred no restocking charge, I understand their policy), but just wanted to say that we at Miataforum DID let you have your say, and let FM have a reply, and then shut it down with the request that the two of you continue your efforts to resolve off-line.... per our policy!

Anyway, enough rambling from me - let me know if that doesn't make any sense! :hang:

Gord,

You are welcome to rant or editorialize here anytime. I know you are fair and balanced (do you work for FOX news Canada? :)).

I learned years ago that if you have a good product and customer service, it speaks for itself. Only companies that are insecure about their products bash their competitors products. I don't like Keith as he seems to like to cut down on his competitors to boost himself. It will get him in the long run. FM, however has a good reputation for their products (other than UBERs) and service. I have spent thousands of $$$ with them myself.

Anyhow, pax vobiscum. I promise to be a good boy and "try" to leave that thread alone. It's probably time for J-Man, Rich Wilkman or a couple of the others to step in an do their junkyard dog routine and make a bad thread obscene. ;)

If you want to get to Heaven you have to raise alittle hell!

Please note I am not trying to bash FM, I just wanted to get the issue of the 5% out in the open so it could be eliminated. A door was opened and I stepped in. Mission accomplished I hope.

Everyone, sorry for the soap opera stuff I started, and I am not trying to be a trouble maker. I consider it a privilege to be part of this group. FFS, M-Net AND THIS FORUM don't need me, but I do need this forum. Installing my CS I have learned allot about my Miata and I like that.

I enjoy everyone's input and have met some swell folks along the way. I make allot of jokes and like to pick on people cuz its fun. Especially Tom.

I have a new luv afair with my Miata now, thanks to FFS. I say that..not to kiss ass it is just the truth. THATS WHAT IS IMPORTANT and it sure is fun to drive. It was the right kit for Buck.

Gord, thanks for explaining yourself. I was thinking wrong, not of you as a person but how the forum is ran etc etc.

Ok... hey we should just close out this thread like the big boys do. I am going here in a few get in my 10AE CS and terrorize the country side.. for just alittle bit because the Sheriffs will soon follow.

I fought the Law and the Law one along time ago! adios omegos

Before it gets closed, one last comment. I like how Buck spells wrong in 2 languages.

I also liked a comment I saw in another forum about nit pickers like me should shut up and posted a long sentence with the letters in every word scrambled and how you could still read it without studying each word. It doesn't matter how it is spelled if you can still understand it so now I will shut up.

Except to say, if it wasn't for some early inventor building an effective printing press, we would all make up the spelling for words like they did when they wrote the Declaration of Independence and Constitution. Mass printed dictionaries are what standardized spelling. Thenk yew.
