Tom,

Thanks for stopping by at our AutoCross on Sunday and letting me flog your car. It was great to meet you and get the chance to drive your car on the track. I'm still trying to get my hands around the vast differances in the handling between our cars.

No question that the power delivery between our cars was very different. There was an obvious jump in power on your car and the driveability was very good....it accelerated like a rocket ship...nice!

Again, thanks for the opportunity. It is rare that someone hands their keys over to a complete stranger so that they can take it on the track and abuse it.

A little back-story...

As you likely all know, Tom is on vacation. For some reason, he chooses to spend at least some of his vacation in Northern Ohio (BTW, Tom, the Chamber of Commerce called... They'd like you as a testimonial! :) *Arizonan spends vacation time in Cleveland!!*)...

So he spends 6 hours of one of his vacation days coming out to sit in a chair and watch one of our little events... He even goes so far as to offer up his CAR to be driven. So Steve Kiffmeyer (owner of an M1 JR MP45 Hotside) took Tom's car out as he sat and watched!

I wished I could have spent more time hanging out with Tom, but as co-chair, I get yanked in a few directions, and on this particular day, I was very distracted by about a dozen or so VERRRY high-maintenance members of the local Corvette Club.


At any rate it was a REAL PLEASURE to meet you face to face, Tom! I only wished I'd had a better day to spend time hanging out with you and your wife, and had better illustrated your product's capabilities...

I was talking with Tom afterwards telling him we had a guy with the club shooting RADAR. The FASTEST at the end of the stratight was the C5 Z06 at one lap of 59, and 58 the others... I was second fastest at 54 EVERY time. Why so slow??

Here's a hint....: dingdingdingdingding.... Yep. Rev-limiter EVERYWHERE on-course. I think it'll be EXCELLENT when we move to our bigger lot on July 4th!!

Paul, all I can say is that I had a blast. I don't know about a dozen Corvettes taking up a lot of your time BUT one, in particular, caused a lot of re-starts. It seemed like a lot more car/HP than driver. On the other hand, the red Corvette with all the sponsor names on it was awesome and I'd guess they probably had less than $100,000 tied up in that car too. ;)

With respect to the rev limiter, nothing taller tires and/or taller diff wouldn't cure. :)

I will try to get the pictures and video of you and Ashley up today. Right after I work on closed loop control and an oil change. I really want to drive home with a 2000 mile closed loop test.

I have found that decals seem to make cars a lot faster. The C stock Miata that always beats me (this time I beat one of the drivers of it, they usually both beat me) has a huge number of decals. I think they should be outlawed.

This last weekend I was top SM2 but still was beaten by a C stock. My car apparently got faster when I reduced the weight by having most of my intake manifold nuts fall off. I can even hear the whistling noises now. I don't know if the new sway bar, brakes and SS brake lines helped or not.
