I keep my hood closed usually. It's hard to see the course with the hood open... :) I do get lots of questions about whats under the hood though.

There were a couple mazdaspeed turbos and one NA miata with a small greddy turbo.

Since we lost our huge lot and are now on a much smaller lot this year , the courses are much tighter , so the big horse power guys don't have the advantage they had last year.

I also think the new Hoosiers are making a difference. What a great tire!

I really like beating the $50,000 Elise with the $2500 onboard computer to analyze his runs.... :)

I did get beat by my good friend with an 87' MR2 though...:(
But he does have a black top motor (200hp) and 8" rims with massive slicks.
Plus he's a great driver!

I was able to finally make it to an Auto-X on Father's Day with the Windy City Miata Club. Unfortunately, they haven't updated their web page yet with results. You'll just have to take my word for it that I was the fastest Miata :) . The only thing faster was a race prepped Datsun something-or-other. Had I had a few more events getting used to the extra power, I don't think he would have been faster. I had lots of people asking what I had under the hood as it screams like no other car there! No problem spinning the Kuhmo Victoracers ;)
