For anyone that has installed a ZT-2, where through the firewall did you run that RJ-45 connector and wire. That's pretty big! Also, what's the recommended spot on the header to mount the 02 sensor (yeah, I know it's in the forum somewhere too busy/lazy to search for it). :)
As for the wiring, what color wires on the main PC-Pro do I need to tap into for the ZT-2 connections? I plan on using vampire taps so I don't have to solder anything (and cut any of the PC-Pro wires.
Thanks guys.

I ran the cable thru the big grey grommet (2 inch diameter) between the brake cylinder and the driver side fender (99 miata). I punched a hole in the grommet and pulled the connector thru taped to a coat hanger wire.

I emailed zetronix about the location of the o2 sensor on the header when I installed mine. They replied with: "Typically at least 14-16 inches down stream from the cylinder head or turbo. The further down the better but before the cat."

Keep in mind that my wiring connections are for a 99 Miata. Other years may be different. I soldered my connections into the PC Pro pass thru connector. I used the ECU pinout diagram from Tom.
ZT2 pin10 grey = TPS 3E
ZT2 pin3 green = RPM 2K (I tried 2J and 2K and they did not work)
ZT2 pin1 red = switched power red wire on main PC Pro
ZT2 pin7 black = ground black wire on main PC Pro
ZT2 pin2 white = not used
ZT2 pin8 brown = not used
ZT2 pin12 blue = not used
ZT2 pin4 orange = boost sensor green
ZT2 pin6 yellow = boost sensor red
ZT2 pin11 brown = boost sensor brown
ZT2 pin5 white/red = ZAVT2 alarm box blue
I think that this is all of them. If you have any questions I will try to look back in my notes.

You lost me. What is the PC-Pro pass through connector? All I remember is all the wires from the PC-Pro going to the Autosport wiring patch harness.

What I am calling a pass thru harness, is the part from Tom that is about 4 to 6 inches long and plugs in between the ECU and the original wiring harness. It is a mass of white wires with 3 yellow plugs on both ends. The PC Pros are soldered into these wires.
You can find the ECU pinout diagram if you got to the instructions section of the forum. It is a jpg image.

If I remember correctly, I ran mine through the hole for the low side a/c line on the firewall. I notched the grommet. I can't remember, but you may need to remove enough of the grommet to have the space necessary to get the connector through and then you notch a space large enough for the cable.

OK Steve, believe it or not I FINALLY hooked up my ZT-2 today. All looks good except for where I'm getting my engine speed from. In your post above you say:
"ZT2 pin3 green = RPM 2K (I tried 2J and 2K and they did not work)"
That doesn't make sense to me. Which pin did you actually go with?
Thanks!

 Sorry for the typo. It should have read:
"ZT2 pin3 green = RPM 2K (I tried 2J and 2H and they did not work)"
I used pin 2K

Hmm. That pin doesn't have a label on Tom's pinout diagram. How did you settle on that one? Do you know what that pin is for on the '99? If so, I may be able to find the equivalent for an '01-05 from the Autosport Harness folks.
I tapped into the lead that's feeding my Split Second controller. It's giving me what looks like 1/2 of engine RPM and the Zeitronix displays it as somewhat oscillating. The Split Second likes it just fine, though.

See post #27 from the following thread from Swingwing:

This is the thread where I figured out how to install mine.

I emailed the Autosport Harness guys and they sent me a pinout that says for an '01-'05 the "3O" pin should provide rpm signal. I'll give it a try.
