I got my kit on wednesday last week. Very nice packing job! Printed off my instructions read through and then dug in Saturday. I'm through all the prep steps except I was confused on one.

In Step 41 it says to replace the coolant hose going to the throttle body. Which hose are you supposed to use? Or do I need to buy another one? Also at what point do you remove the hose coming from the oil filter area to the throttle body, and thus when do you remove the whole throttle body. The Haynes manual said to drain the whole coolant system, do I really need to do this? I just flushed it a couple of weeks ago.

Some others:

Does it make sense to replace the fuel injectors? Or can the exisiting simply be cleaned up and reused (from a lifetime standpoint and health for the engine what makes the most sense?) If they can be cleaned and reused what;s the best way to do this?

Does it make sense to replace the radiator? My car has almost 100k on it, and if the alternator is going to be really hard to get too it'd probably make sense to go ahead and replace it. But I'd like to hear from others/Tom.

Do I need to think about a new higher flow fuel pump? The Jackson racing kits recommend this, but I don't want to spend the money unless it's going to be worth it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Kevin,

You will use the same hose connected the same way on a 95, You may need to purchase more hose to be long enough to reach the IAC.

My 95M had just under 96,000 on it when I coldsided earlier this year. I think the best thing I did outside of the coldside was to put a remote oil filter kit on along with an oil cooler. I have a 160 degree thermostat in it and my oil temperature has never risen above 220, and that was on a 95 degree day right after pushing it hard for a spirited drive and then getting caught by some traffic lights. I toyed with the idea of a bigger radiator but I think now I'll just do the fan mod so that they both spin. When I push the car hard and can then run at highway speeds, my oil temp stays right around 190 degrees.

As far as the injectors go, I found small cracks in the tips of mine. At the very least you would need the new seals/o-rings. So I followed Tom's suggestion and called Arizona TPI and put in the 280cc injectors which came with all the appropriate seals. The car is running pig rich at WOT but until I can get to the dyno, I'm happy with that.

The other thing I think I would do is before bolting on the new intake manifold, connect a length of hose to the water port at the oil filter and just let it hang out of the way until it is time to plumb the IAC. Then once you figure out where the IAC will end up, you can easily run that hose where you need it without having to try and get a clamp on near the oil filter when all the big hardware is in place.

Good Luck!
