View Full Version : Boost Sensor?

Is this refering to a boost gauge sender? or is there supposed to be another sensor that I'm missing? I've got almost everything done except for the last few vacuum and electrical hookups.
Also another question, the instructions mention a 5/8" hose adaptor for connecting the IAC, I did not see this in my remaining parts, am I missing something?
Finally in the IAC bag of parts there was a small white nylon piece, what is this supposed to be for?
Thanks for all the help so far. I'm hoping to fire it up late this week or next weekend if all goes well.

Where did most people run this through the firewall? Did you drill a new hole or is there an exisiting one that works well?
Thanks,

Two more questions:
It's been so long since I took it apart now I've got a couple of head scratchers:
1. Where does the fuel feed come from? Is it from one of the two hard fuel lines on the passenger side fender? If so which one is feed and which one does the other connect too?
2. I've got two lines coming from where I think the diagram points to for where to tee the line in for the 5th injector one of the lines has red marks on the side, the other has blue, any idea where these go to?
Thanks in advance.

1. The Boost sender is one of the two small devices on the passenger fender that used to have a vacuum line to the IM. Now those two devices run their vacuum lines to the VDB.
2. Cut a piece of the hose that used to go to the IAC about 2-3 inches long. Put a little spit on the 3/8 hose that is supposed to connect there and slide about an inch of it inside the 5/8 piece. Then use a hose clamp to secure them together. Slide the other end on the IAC.
3. Put that white plastic device in the end of the 3/8 hose that connects to the driver's side of the cam cover. Direction doesn't matter.

There is a rubber plug installed in a hole in the firewall right behind the washer bottle. Not the big rubber plug with wiring harness, but another that is nearby. It is about 3/4 inch. You can punchure the center of the grommet and feed the boost line and fuel injector wires whought there. That should be all you need to pass through.
You will need to remove the glovebox, and cut a hole through the insulation to get to the wires from inside. Then run them along the transmission tunnel to the ECU.
