Dr Evol's 99 dyno. I am still king of the coldside hill but ne\xt week he is changing to a 120mm pulley :) and I'll be out of town on business so, at least for a few days, I'm sure he will be king of the Coldsides. I'll let him fill in the particulars but I believe it was on 93 octane at 88F. He ONLY made 210 WHP. ;) It may be hard to read but those A/F numbers are 12-12.5:1. He is going to fatten that last 6000-7000 RPM area and I think there is another 3-4WHP begging to come out. I like to see them at or below 12:1.

I was running 94 octane. It was a little warm and humid during my dyno runs, 88 degrees and the humidity was above 65%.

I already increased my fuel in the 6 - 7K area this morning but 4 hp may be hard to feel with the butt dyno.

The car runs great, the torque feels fantastic on the street!!! The 120 pulley should feel even better.

Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely!

That is with a stock fuel pump as well.

Very nice! if this is with a stock fuel pump then why do some people like me upgrade to a bigger pump? hmm....

He is marginal at this point and will be changing his stock pump for the Walbro 255. His A/F curve is turning up at the end and he has added fuel to his fuel map a couple times and is getting no more fuel. 210WHP is stretching the limits of the stock pump. He wants 225. :)

Actually, 250 would be better. Baby steps!

at what point do you recommend upgrading to a walbro 255?

In hindsite, I would have gone with the Walbro 190lhp. My 225lph is working great but I heard that it can overpower the fuel regulator in some cars. The stock 99 fuel pump is something like 80lph.

What mods were on Dr Evols car at the time of this dyno? Just the ffs coldside kit? What size pulley? Stock 99 injectors? What was used to tune the fuel curve? Anything used to control timing, or just a static retard? What was base timing set to? Thanks!

So they downgraded the pump from the NA's to the NB's. The 1.6's and 1.8's of pre 98 era had a 160 lph pump wich is good for 300+. I don't see how a 255 is going to do as much damage in a NB becouse you guys run a integrated FPR, in the tank, and we run a FPR tied into the fuel return line. But with my DIY dual feed mod I noticed my pressure returned to stock.
