To anyone running a Knocklite - to what wire or ECU pin did you connect the orange wire for rpm? Instructions say "to tach/ignition out". Tom suggested cam or crank signal.

The Cam signal is 2 pulses per revolution and the Crank signal is 4 pulses per revolution. You could use either as there must be a switch/setup for 2 cylinder, 4 cylinder and 8 cylinder. One of those should give you a match?

I just sent them an email and asked. I'll post the reply when I get it.

There is no adjustment but it looks like it was designed to go on only 4 cylinder engines so it wouldn't need one.

Thanks, so it sounds like the crank signal ought to work.

Hey Tom, ever hear back from TurboXS? My Knocklite appears to be wired correctly, but it is waaaaay too sensitive. On the lowest sensitivity setting, it shows a constant yellow light (supposed to mean "light knock detected") over 1500 rpm. Light goes off only below 1500 rpm.

The Bosch sensor is on the passenger side engine mount. Would the driver side mount be less prone to extraneous noise? I wouldn't think so, with the exhaust manifold on that side.

Not a word?

Kind of reminds me of my J&S when I had it. I could have 100 octane and get "knock" at idle.

Moving it to the other side might help BUT, if you have to move it that far away to get rid of 'noise' and turn it all the way down, will it still detect knock?

Doh! My bad.
I'm slightly green/red color blind. Maybe less slightly than I realized. It was the green (shift) light that was coming on all the time, not the yellow (knock) light. I had misprogrammed the shift light. Reprogrammed it and now is acting much better. At sensitivity setting #5 (middle), it picks up larger bumps in the road and sometimes flashes briefly at redline.
