just thought I'd share some cool ....I mean Hot photos...
This is what happens when a glass furnace cracks and spews a couple hundred pounds of molten glass.

So I guess you don't want to have one of those on a wood floor. I assume you didn't since you didn't show burned down house pictures.
Knowing nothing about the process of what ever you do (saw pictures before of the work. Nice), was that a serious economic event?

I used to make some of the controls for those furnaces. I sure hope they weren't mine. :) I get enough flack from dead engines. ;)

This is something that happens from time to time if the pot inside the furnace is not changed on a yearly basis as the hot glass slowly eats away at the ceramic pot. I decided to see how long it would last this time and managed about 3 years.
It's not a major economic event except for the down time. It takes me about a week to disassemble the furnace and replace the pot, bricks and insulation.
Not difficult to do, just dirty.
