Quick question about the fan mod. I'm thinking about doing it (jumpering the AC and Cooling fans in the PCPro harness) but I wanted to verify that what jumpering means in my head means the same thing that actually makes it work vs. blow up my car.

Do I just strip some of the insulation from both wires and run a wire from one to the other, kinda like an H pipe in a dual exhaust from a V8?

I'm sorry if this seems simple, but wiring scares the pooh out of me...

Yep. You are correct. Just make sure you get the right two wires. They are called out in the pinout diagram for your model year in the "Instructions" forum.

Thanks for responding so quickly. I'm pretty sure I have the right two wires, you made them purple and grey in your harness (vs. white) and I double checked that against your pinout diagram. Now for the hard part, making that first cut...

Just remember, solder and heat shrink are your friends. :)

So we need to jump the R/Y and L/W fan wires correct.

Yours "should" already be done. I think we did it here.

Yes, it is pins 2B and 2C. Easy to find on an 01-05 harness. Bottom connector two wires below the the first orange wire.

So we need to jump the R/Y and L/W fan wires correct.

I used a scotchlok (http://products3.3m.com/catalog/us/en001/utilities_telecom/electrical_contractors/node_GSYVRFTMH6be/root_GST1T4S9TCgv/vroot_GSBCDFDZ1Zge/gvel_RZZJLFZNT6gl/theme_us_electricalcontractors_3_0/command_AbcPageHandler/output_html) for this mod. Made it real easy since the wires are right next to each other on the 01-05.

I suppose you can take the easy way out instead of practicing your soldering skills. ;)

Everyone should practice soldering upside down with a flashlight in your mouth and your head under the dash every chance you get. ;)

As Clint Eastwood once said: "man's got to know his limitations". I've always been a bit of a hack with a soldering iron.
