I have the OEM 15x6 rims with 205x50x15 Victorracer V700s that I've been running on the street. I am absolutely hooked on the grip, but last weekend I noticed one of the tires had the beginnings of a rip/split near the sidewall.

How do you think running 225x50x15s in back and 205x50x15s in front would drive?

It will tend to understeer more, all else being equal. Depending on your chassis setup that may or may not be a good thing.

225/50's on 6 " rims ????

225/50-15 is a lot of tire for a 6" rim.

When I was autocrossing my 10AE in CS, I ran 225/50-15 kumho on 6 inch rims. I also ran 225/45-15 Hoosiers on the same 6 inch rims. It can be done but is not the best set up.
